WELLINGTON MEETING KINDERGARTEN WINS STAKES. BATTLEDRESS SUCCESSFUL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Kindergarten staged a brilliant return to winning form in his first public appearance since October when he won the North Island Challenge Stakes at Trentham on Saturday when the Wellington Racing Club opened its autumn meeting. Except for occasional strong gusts of wind, conditions were ideal for racing, the day being sunny and warm, and the track in perfect condition. There was a large attendance and the totalisator handled £82,390 (win £33,697, place £48,693) compared with £56,679 on the opening day last year (a Thursday), an increase of £25,711.
