NEW COMMUNICATION METHOD EETWEEN GREAT BRITAIN ! & AUSTRALIA. EXCHANGE OF ASSURANCES. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 7. On-the inauguration of new methods of communication between Britain and Australia, messages of greeting have been exchanged between the Communication Branch of the Dominions Office and its opposite numbers, in the Prime Minister's Department in Canberra. „ ~ ~ “We take the opportunity, said the Australians, “of expressing our thanks for patiently bearing with us over the past years and suffering so silently our transgressions. We know only too well the work which has been done by you under great difficulties. It is our turn tb face those difficulties and we are confident that we will do so unflinchingly. We know we shall receive every encouragement from you.” The Dominions Office replied: “The sentiments expressed are appreciated by all, and your ability to face cheerfully and unflinchingly any trials and tribulations which may come your way has neved been doubted here. “At the moment the Empire team is batting on a sticky wicket and the Axis fast bowlers have had some success, but our best bats are still to go in. The score in time will show that we can give as well as take punishment. The details of the new method of transmission remain a secret.
