OBITUARY

MR WILLIAM HULME. i The death occurred yesterday of Mr William Hulme, a highly respected resident of Short Street, Masterton. The late Mr Hulme, who was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, and come to New Zealand about thirty years ago, was a successful building contractor. He leaves a widow and one son, Aircraftman J. E. Hulme, who is at present serving with the R.N.Z.A.F., also two sisters residing in England, who will have the sympathy of a' large circle of friends in their bereavement. The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the Chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Service, Ltd., following a service at 2 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery. MRS ISABELLA GLEN. The death occurred at the Masterton Hospital on Saturday of Mrs Isabella Glen, widow of the late Mr James Glen, of Dunedin. The late Mrs Glen, who was in her 73rd year, had been in ill-health for some years. For the past two years she had resided in Masterton. She was a great lover of horses. At one time hci’ husband, who saw service in the last war, was farming at Benmore, Otago. He predeceased her some years ago. The late Mrs Glen is survived by a. son, who is attached to a field ambulance in the South Island and a daughter, Mrs B. Burgess, Opaki Road, Masterton. The funeral took place this afternoon.
