SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT REPORTED BY CHIANG KAI-SHEK. CONFERENCE WITH BRITISH COMMANDERS. (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) CHUNGKING, March 6; General Chiang Kai-shek, who has returned from India, disclosed that he held a conference with General Sir A. Wavell and Sir Reginald Dorman Smith, at Lashio, on Tuesday, and informed them that a satisfactory decision regarding a Chinese-Indian coordination of war efforts had been reached. It is officially announced in New Delhi that a technical mission is shortly arriving from the United States. The announcement added: “The military situation in South-East Asia emphasises the need for fully developing the resources of India as a supply base for the armed forces. The mission will report on the possibilities of such development.”
