Reference was also made to the fact that Mrs Stone-Wigg’s son was a prisoner of war. The resignation of Mrs A. lorns from the branch was accepted with regret, as Mrs lorns was a very active member and was the branch’s representative on the Patriotic Committee. It was decided to place on jecord appreciation of her services. Mrs Milne was appointed to take her place on the Patriotic Committee. It was decided to donate £2 2s to the New Zealand Sheepowners’ British Seamen’s Fund, and to make donations from time to time to the fund, as a mark of appreciation to the Trustees for what they have done for the Division in the past. Mrs K. Groves gave an informative outline of the work being carried out at the Rest Home at Palmerston North. The Rest Home was now paying its way, and was fulfilling its objective as a rest and holiday home for tired mothers. The bring and buy stall realised £5. Some beautiful comforts for the mercantile marine were sent in by members and were on view, including an outstanding pullover made by Miss Wilson.
