licensing committee. MEETING AT CARTERTON TODAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) . The quarterly sitting of the Wairarapa Licensing Committee was held at Carterton this morning, Mr H. 1. Lawry, S.M., presiding There were also present Messrs S. W. Smith, W C M. Sorensen, J. Purvis. Apologies foi absence were received from Messrs F W. Wood and C. Skill. The transfer of the license of the Taueru Hotel from J. Wilson Griffiths to R A. Stowe was granted. Other business dealt with was chiefly in connection with the fire escapes at various hotels in the district, and recommendations were made by the committee for improvements to be carried out.
