DAMAGED NORMANDIE
SALVAGE CONTRACT LET. , CONGRESSIONAL INQUIRY STARTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) NEW YORK, March 2. The “Mirror” reports that a 5.000,000dollar contract to raise the capsized Normandie has been awarded to a local marine salvage company. The vessel was previously declared unsalvageable by the naval authorities. Meanwhile the House Naval Committee has started an inquiry into the disaster and its members were here today inspecting the liner from a pier.
