Miss Joyce Gill, of Totara Street, Masterton, has returned home after a visit to Wellington. The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Education, will leave Wellington for Palmerston North by the Limited express tonight. The Minister, who will open the Aohanga Native School on Friday, will return to Wellington on Saturday. Mr G. Reid was' elected chairman of the executive of the Wellington branch of the Navy League at yesterday’s meeting of the executive. He takes the place of Mr P. B. Cooke, who is now engaged on full-time military duties. The annual report of the St. Andrew Society states that the resignation of Mr N. B. Andrew from the honorary secretaryship, owing to removal from Masterton, was much regretted. His place was filled by the appointment of Mr J. B. Kent-Johnston, who has proved highly efficient. The annual report of the St. Andrew Society congratulates the musical dir-) ector, Mr W. C. Mann, on the high standard maintained in the annual programmes. The St. Andrew Ladies’ Choir, under Mr Mann’s conductorship, is also congratulated on its efforts. The death occurred at Levin yesterday of Mrs Una Mary Harding, wife of Mr Colin Clive Harding, of Beetham Street, Master ton. The late Mrs Harding had been in ill health for some time past. She had resided in Masterton for some years. She is survived by her husband and one child. The funeral will take place in Masterton tomorrow. leaving St. Patrick’s Church, following mass al 9 a.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
