THROWN FROM HORSE

BOY FATALLY INJURED. UNLUCKY NORTH AUCKLAND FAMILY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WHANGAREI, This Day. Thrown from a horse at Whangape on Saturday, Walter Kane Kendall, aged eight, was fatally injured. The boy was at home alone when he mounted a horse to drive a strange, horse from a paddock. The stranger lashed out and the boy’s horse, which reared, threw his rider.

When his father returned from a sale, the boy came in, bleeding at the mouth and ears. He was taken to the Kaitaia Hospital, but did not rally. This is the third fatality in the family during three months, two of Walter Kendall’s elder brothers having been drowned when attempting to cross the Whangape River in a dinghy, towing horses.
