MASTERTON WEST EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS. SENIOR AND JUNIOR CONTESTS. The Masterton West School held its swimming sports yesterday in the school baths, in the presence of many spectators. Boys: Eldon Peterson’s team 1, George Swinn’s team 2, Robert Permain’s team 3. CENTRAL SCHOOL HOUSE CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY SEDDON. Good weather conditions and interesting entries marked the Central School swimming sports held in the Dixon Street Baths yesterday under the supervision of Mr E. G. Coddington, headmaster, and other members of the staff. A long and varied programme produced the following champions:—Senior girl, Betty McCormack; junior girl, Shirley Nicol; senior boy, Les Clarke; junior boy, John Bennett. The House championship resulted in a win for Seddon House with Wakefield a close second and Massey third. Practically all events were closely contested and several novelty events provided the fun.
