Good weather conditions and interesting entries marked the Central School swimming sports held in the Dixon Street Baths yesterday under the supervision of Mr E. G. Coddington, headmaster, and other members of the staff. A long and varied programme produced the following champions:—Senior girl, Betty McCormack; junior girl, Shirley Nicol; senior boy, Les Clarke; junior boy, John Bennett. The House championship resulted in a win for Seddon House with Wakefield a close second and Massey third. Practically all events were closely contested and several novelty events provided the fun.
