A new Rolls-Royce Merlin engine— Mark 20—with a considerably better performance than its predecessors, is in full-scale production, reports “The Times” aeronautical correspondent. It is a twelve-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, with a two-speed super-charger. The low-speed super-charger gives 1,260 horse-power at 2,250 feet and the high-speed 1,175 horse-power at 21,000 feet.
