EKETAHUNA
PATRIOTIC APPEAL CANVASSERS APPOINTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting in connection with the National Patriotic Appeal was held last night in the Borough Council Chambers, the Mayor, Mr W. Olsen, presiding. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. Handyside and A. Southey. Canvassers to secure funds were appointed as follows: —Town, Messrs D. Ryan and K. Marenzi; Alfredton Road and Anderson Street, Messrs Fordyce and Rogers; Newman Road, Messrs 01--sen and Mason; Parkville, Messrs Page and Walton; Bridge Street, Mr H. Greathead. About £5O was donated at the meeting. It was stated that Eketahuna’s quota was £390. Personal Items. Mrs Gallagher is attending the Methodist Conference in Wellington. Miss Edith Houlbrooke, of the Masterton Hospital staff, has been on a visit to her mother at Alfredton Road.
