PLANES & SUBMARINES OPERATING IN THE INDIES. JAPANESE SPOKESMAN’S ESTIMATE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 25. A Japanese Navy spokesman said fifty to sixty Allied submarines and a thousand planes were operating against Japanese shipping iq the Indies. The Japenese were using the Singapore base for widespread operations. Some of the damaged oilfields in Sarawak had been restored to production.
