IN ICELAND WATERS
AMERICAN NAVAL CUTTER TORPEDOED. SOME LOSS OF LIFE REPORTED. LONDON, February 23. The United States Navy Department reports that the naval cutter Alexander Hamilton, of 2000 tons, was torpedoed by an enemy submarine off the coast of Iceland. While being towed to port the cutter'capsized and had to be sunk by gunfire. The loss of life was moderate.
