CENTRAL SCHOOL
PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Parents’ Association was held at the Central School last night, Owing to the unavoidable absence of Mr W. Emerson, Mr W. Butler occupied the chair. Also present were: Messrs P. H. Shaw, E. C. Coddington, Bradley, Reynolds, Smith and Malmo, Mesdames Coddington, Nicol, Braggins, Emerson, Smith Malmo Wilmshurst, Nicol and Judd. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs W. R. Nicol and M. Nicol. It was decided to close the books of the association on February 28 for the purpose of audit. The matter of obtaining sports gear for the school was left in the hands of the headmaster, with power to purchase. A small committee was set up to carry out lighting alterations in connection with the black-out. The ladies’ committee were empowered to purchase supplies of crockery. It was decided that the fortnightly dances commence on April 11 and the charges for admission be the same as last year, with a reduction for soldiers in uniform. Orchestral arrangements were left in the hands of the secretary. The next meeting of the committee will be held early in April when matters in connection with the biennial elections will be discussed.
