SCOUT WEEK
CONCLUSION OF CAMPAIGN CHURCH PARADE HELD YESTERDAY. APPEAL FOR MORE HELPERS. The Scout Week campaign in Masterton last week concluded yesterday when a church parade was held at St. Matthew’s. There was a large attendance of members of the St. Matthew’s and the Mo Katoa Scouts and Cubs. Loyalty to God and King, which characterised Scouting at its best, was the subject dealt with by the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich in his address. On Saturday evening Scouts assembled round the camp fire in the Den and had a most enjoyable time, a large number of parents being well entertained. As a fair number of boys have recently joined the movement and there are indications that many more will be linking up in the next week or two, an appeal is made to ex-Scouts and Scouters to come forward and assist by helping to run the organisation locally.
