Today Sir Cyril and Lady Newall left Wellington to pay their first official visits to Feilding, Stratford and Hawera. Their Excellencies will return to Wellington on Friday evening next. The Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C.. has been elected a life member of the Royal Christchurch Musical Society. Dr. R. A. Falla is a new vicepresident. Mr and Mrs Tom O’Donnell, of Marton, are spending a holiday with their daughter. Mrs J. F. Oliver, of Mangamaire. Mr O’Donnell was at one time on the staff of the “Wairarapa Daily Times.”
