HOME GUARD PARADE AT WEEKEND. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Mounted Rifles will hold a parade at the weekend and will operate between Papawai and Morison’s Bush. This unit is in urgent need of saddles. The Greytown E.P.S. will dig trenches at the school on Saturday morning. Last weekend the Home Guard carried out work at the school. Those willing to assist are asked to report to the borough foreman, bringing their* own picks and shovels with them. Bowling Club, G. Brunton, the holder of the Dennes Medal, defeated J. Kiernan last evening in a match for the trophy. Persona] items. Mr and Mrs T. N. Smallwood have returned from a visit to Auckland.’ TOWN HALL TOMORROW’S PROGRAMME. There will be a matinee at 2 p.m. tomorrow, a special session from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the usual session at 8 p.m., when “Penny Serenade” will be shown, starring Irene Dunn and Cary Grant. (Approved for Universal Exhibition).
