WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

RONGOKOKAKO MEETING COMPETITION WINNERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Rongokokako Women's Institute was held at the residence of Mrs B. Morriss, when Mrs J. P. Sigvertsen presided over a large attendance of members and visitors. A collection was taken up in aid of the soldiers’ parcels fund. Members donated tins of biscuits which are to. be packed with the parcels. The competitions resulted as follows: Child’s garment (made from something old), Mrs J. Payne 1, Mrs S. Smith 2. Best flower, Mrs Nagel 1, Miss Ursula Payne 2. A mystery parcel was won by Mrs S. Smith, stepping the chain by Mrs K. Faulkner, throwing the tennis ball by Mrs J. Drysdale, and a treasure hunt by Mrs S. Schultz. The president thanked Mrs B. Morriss for having placed at the disposal of the Institute her attractive gardens and grounds, and also Mrs A. Schormann for having judged the competitions. Afternoon tea was provided.
