BOWLING DENNES MEDAL COMPETITION. (“Times-Age” Special.) G. Brunton, the present holder of the Dennes Medal, was successful in defeating J. Reid after a hard-fought game. J. Coleman made a bold bid in the early stages of his game against Brunton, but a failing light and a bumpy green made him unsuccessful with his driving tactics. Personal. The residents of Humphrey Street paid a surprise visit to Mr and Mrs W. Drysdale on Monday evening, to honour the approaching marriage of Miss Hazel Drysdale. The time was spent in games, and musical items were contributed by Mrs E. Drysdale and Miss Drysdale. On behalf of those present, Mr C. Garrity extended good wishes to Miss Drysdale. Mr Herd suitably replied on behalf of Miss Drysdale. The Governor-General (Sir C. Newall) on his visit to the Wairarapa yesterday, made a stop at Greytown where ■he met Mr Mark Maxton and had a brief chat with him. TOWN HALL TOMORROW’S PROGRAMME. A double feature programme will be shown tomorrow' night —“Indian Nation,” featuring Richard Dix. (Approved for Universal Exhibition), and “Man-Made Monster,” with Lon Chaney Junr. and Lionel Atwill in the leading roles. (Recommended by the Censor for Adults).
