HELP NEEDED
9 FOR EMERGENCY HOSPITALS. POSITION IN MASTERTON. A meeting of the committee of the Emergency Hospital staffing committee was held recently. There were present Mrs R. Miller (in the chair), Mesdams V. H. Heath, E. J. Burke and Miss Diggins. An apology for non-at-tendance was received from Mrs H. J. Bannister. Mrs Miller explained that cooks and laundry aids were taking their training under the V.A.D. system, and emphasised that in the event of any emergency necessitating the establishment of hospitals in Masterton a great deal of help would be needed in kitchens, wards, etc. The committee would be pleased to receive the names of persons who were prepared to give their services. The names of local women or girls may be left with Miss M. Diggins (’phone 1646) and of country women with Mrs R. Miller (’phone 506W).
