MANAWATU RINKS ANNUAL VISIT TO WAIRARAPA. WIN FOR LOCAL CENTRE. On Saturday, nine teams of bowlers from the Manawatu Centre paid their annual return visit to the Wairarapa. On the Park green the visitors were welcomed by the President, Mr E. J. Burke, Mr Swinbourn, of the Northern Club, Palmerston North, replying. The games resulted as follows: — Whale, Anstice, Fenton, Newton (s), Park, lost to Kenyon, Lovell, Grinlinton, Bly (s), Woodville, 27/7; White, Wallis, Dixon, Shearer (s), Park, lost to Body, Drury, Cole, Thompson (s), Hokowhitu, 24/8; Spackman, P. Smith, Wallace, Carx’ (s), Park, lost to Hoare, Swinbourn, Ross, Lovelock (s), Northern, 22/20; Davies, Moore, Wall, O’Donnell (s), Park, lost to Dymond, Frew, Thomas, Russell (s), Takaro, 28/14; Shouler, Compton, Russell, Henderson (s), Masterton, beat Simms, Allen, Brown .King (s), Terrace End. 24/15; McKay, Taylor, Holdsworth, Mills (s), Masterton, beat Ramsey, Butcher, Manser, Hornblow (s), Eketahuna, 20/12. On the Masterton green the visitors were welcomed by Mi’ H. H. Daniell. President of the Masterton Club, the greetings being acknowledged by Mr J. A. Nash, President of the Manawatu Centre. Mr G. Hayne, President of the Wairarapa Centre, extended a welcome to them. Mi’ J. A. Nash, President of the Manawatu Centre, replied on behalf of the visitors.
