MIDDLE EAST OPERATIONS IMPORTANT CENTRES BOMBED. ANOTHER RAID ON MALTA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 12. An R.A.F. Middle East headquarters communique states: Our fighter aircraft continued their activities and damaged enemy planes in the encounters that took place. Our air forces dispersed aircraft on the Martuba landing ground. They dropped bombs on Monday night and fires broke out. On the following night objectives in the Derna and Martuba areas were raided but the results of these attacks were obscured by poor visibility. Targets in Crete and the Dodecanese Islands were bombed on the same two nights. Fires were started in the area of the enemy naval workshops,’ stores and the submarine docks. The Heraklion aerodrome was also attacked. Enemy aircraft raided Malta on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Several attacking bombers and fighters were damaged by our aircraft which intercepted the enemy formations. Six of our planes are missing.
