CHINESE TROOPS
COMPLICATED PROBLEMS IN BURMA REASON FOR DELAY IN TAKING FIELD. DIFFICULTIES BEING OVERCOME. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) CHUNGKING, February 12. The Chinese troops in Burma were not put into action earlier because of food, water, clothing and medical problems, said Major-General Denys, head of the British Military Mission to China. He added that the existence of two Allied armies, talking different languages, eating different foods and using different arms created complicated problems and caused delays but these things would soon be straightened out. A Chungking communique states: “Japanese forces suffered a severe setback in the Northern Anhwai Province, where Chinese troops recaptured Mongcheng.
