FIVE ENEMY WARSHIPS
Lost in Operations at Amboina INCLUDING THREE CRUISERS LONDON, January 12. A Batavia message says that when the Japanese occupied the Dutch naval base at Amboina, the enemy lost three cruisers, one destroyer, and a submarine. One of the cruisers was sunk by the shore batteries on the island. The other two were blown up in minefields. The submarine hit a mine after submerging, and was blown up.
