HOME GUARD
MASTERTON BATTALION ROUTINE ORDERS. CLASSES, PARADES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES. Routine orders for the Masterton Battalion of the Home Guard, issued by Major A. L. Hibbs, D.C.M., are: — CLASSES: N.C.O. class, Tuesday, February 10, at 7.0 p.m., at Municipal Hall. Officers and N.C.O.’s classes, under Capt. Lee, N.Z.T.S.. will be held as follows: H.Q., A, B, C, D, E and F Companies. tomorrow, at Municipal Hall. Masterton. at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Subjects: Fieldcraft, Rifle, Grenades. Webb equipment, where available, and rifles to be carried. Lunch and cup to be carried. Country company commanders are to arange transoprt. Coupons for petrol requirements will be provided. Captain Lee.has advised that the dates mentioned are the only suitable days available this month, and that it is not possible to visit country centres. Country company commanders are therefore instructed to contact the officers and n.c.o.’s of their respective companies with a view to ensuring a full muster so that full advantage may be gained from the classes. PARADES: H.Q. (including Petrol Guards), A and C Companies: Parade at respective Drill Halls on Thursday, February 12. at 7.0 p.m. Other centres will adhere to individual arrangements. TRANSFERS, PROMOTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS: C Coy.: No. 8 Pin., J. A. Hancock to Band. F Coy.: Wainuioru Ptn., L. A. E. Holmes transferred to C Coy. MARCHED IN: 23 Recruits. MARCHED OUT: H.Q. Coy.: (Ambulance) W. C. Day and I. H. Luff to the Oil Industry Emergency Precaution Service, Masterton. A Coy.: D. Foreman (ill health), S. W. Jones (to Military Camp). C Coy.: No. 9 Ptn., P. O’Brien (to Territorial Camp). No. 10 Ptn., W. A. C. Pullar (Air Force). F Coy.: E. Fenemor and B. Fenemor (to Territorial Camp).
