GREYTOWN
PLUNKET SOCIETY 81-MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the bi-monthly meeting of the Greytown Plunket Society, Mrs. Maddison occupied the chair. Others present were Mesdames Richards, Everett, Bull, Alexander, Gregor and Bunny. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Kiernan, York and Wiggins. The credit balance at the bank was reported to be £64 16s 2d. The Society benefited to the extent of £2 11s 6d from the Christmas hamper raffled. The winning number was held by Mrs. York. Mrs. York was thanked for the generous manner in which the contents of the hamper were distributed. The Plunket Nurse’s report for December and January was as follows: — New cases, mothers 5 and 4, babies 5 and 4; visits to home new cases 9 and 5, old cases 40 and 37; older children, 17. Visits to rooms: Mothers, 13 and 32; babies, 13 and 30; older children, 1 and 3. Soldiers’ Dance. There was a large attendance at the soldiers’ dance held in. the Town Hall last evening. Te Tau’s Orchestra supplied the music, and a soldiers’ orchestra played extras. Personal Items. ( Mr. B. Myers, an employee of Mr. Riddiford’s station, is at present an inmate of the Greytown Hospital, as the result of an injury to one of his feet through a horse treading on it: Mr. F. J Brooks has returned to his home in Main Street, after having been in the Greytown Hospital. TOWN HALL TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME. Tonight “North West Mounted Police” will be screened. The picture features Gary Cooper and Madeleine Carroll, who are supported by six other stars. (Approved for Universal Exhibition).
