CRICKET

AUCKLAND V. WELLINGTON NORTHERN TEAM’S GOOD SCORE. A CENTURY TO KERR. (By Telegraph—Prqjg Association—Copyright) AUCKLAND, February 6. Outstanding features of the representative cricket match for the Centennial Cup between Auckland and Wellington were the batting successes of players representing Auckland for the first time, and also the fast rate of scoring by the home team. C. Kerr, who top-scored for Auckland with 122, H. G. Walters (81), and N. Ellis (69), all made their first appearance in an Auckland side. Auckland scored 469. The Wellington team had 20 minutes’ batting, and the opening pair put on 21 runs without the loss of a wicket.
