ARMED FORCES
OVERSEAS SERVICE APPEALS SITTING CONCLUDED YESTERDAY. MANY CASES ADJOURNED. The No. 4A Armed Forces Appeal Board concluded its sitting in Masterton yesterday afternoon, when appeals in respect to men called up for service overseas were dealt with. The chairman, Mr H. B. Lusk, presided and there were also present Messrs F. R. Field and W. H. Barry, and the secretary, Nir J. C. Corbishley. Mr J. S. Wauchop represented the Crown. The following cases were dealt with (the name of the person lodging the appeal being given in parentheses): — Arthur Norman Jones, farm hand (Norman Ralph Jones), adjourned until the next sitting, ih the meantime every effort to be made to replace appellant. lan Morison McLaren, farm manager (Trustees of the Estate Peter Lee McLaren) adjourned until the next sitting. Robert Tuohy Flynn, farmer (Margaret Flynn) dismissed. Edmund Charles Todd, Junr., sheep farmer and shearer (appellant) adjourned until the next sitting. Athol Edward Wadham, farmer (Edward Cornelius Wadham) adjourned sine die. Kenneth Vernon Lambert, precision grinder, metal sprayer (Robert Lambert) adjourned sine die. Donald Garth McLachlan, farmer (Percy Donald McLachlan), adjourned sine die. Henry Percy Blatchford, farm hand (Douglas Blatchford) adjourned until the first sitting after May 1. Thomas Henry Harrison, agricultural contractor (N.Z. Farmers’ Union and William Henry Ebbitt) adjourned sine die.
