PLUNKET APPEAL
HOUSE TO HOUSE COLLECTION NEXT WEEK. SOCIETY’S PATRIOTIC WORK. The Masterton branch of the Plunket Society is making its annual house, to house appeal next week, commencing on Monday. Drawing attention to the appeal, the president, Mrs J. Caselberg, stresses the patriotic character of the society s work. The society’s funds are depleted owing to the smaller grants being received on account of war conditions and also on account of the many calls being made on the society. Mrs Caselberg points out that at all times the society is only too willing to do everything possible to help mothers and children. Many of the mothers have their husbands serving with the forces and those left behind should make every effort to ensure that these mothers feel that their sacrifice is appreciated. No one can doubt the, necessity for the society’s work, especially ruling the present critical days. Mis Caselberg says she is confident that the collectors next week will be favourably received.
