SERVICE OF PRAYER • HELD AT ST. CUTHBERT’S CHURCH > (“Times-Age” Special.) A united intercession service for . soldiers, sailors, airmen and nurses from this district was held in St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church yesterday morning. The preacher was the Rev. G. E. Williams. The form of service was taken from the Lord’s Prayer. The ‘ Rev. I. Hopper will preach at the ser--1 vice next Thursday. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs H. Keam, formerly of the Putara district, and now of Whangarei, are the guests of their daughter, Mrs W. G. Waterreus, Bright Street. Mrs Studley, Bentley Street, Masterton, has returned home after having been the guest of Mrs Houlbrooke, Alfredton Road. Mrs A. Laurence, Palmerston North, and Mr and Mrs Burns, Otahuhu, who have .been the guests of Mrs C. Oliver, have returned home. Mr J. Goggin, who has been staying with his mother, Mrs J. Goggin, John Street, has returned to Wellington. His many friends will be pleased to learn that he is well enough to leave the Red Cross Hospital where he had been a patient for a considerable period. Mr F. Robinson, of the Eketahuna Post Office staff, has been transferred to the Palmerston North Post Office. Mr Robinson has been for some time organist at the Presbyterian Church, and will be greatly missed in musical circles. He is the possessor of an excellent baritone voice which has been heard at many local concerts. Mr Robertson is also a splendid cricketer, and assisted .materially in winning many matches for the local club. A courteous and efficient post office official, Mi’ Robinson will be much missed in the various spheres of his local activities.
