MAJOR OFFENSIVE

TO START VERY SOON ON FAR LARGER SCALE. CHINESE WAR POLICY. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) CHUNGKING, February 5. The United Press states that high Chinese military officials have revealed that Marshal Chiang Kai-shek is rapidly preparing for major offensives against the Japanese, using war equipment provided by the United States. The offensives, which will start very soon, will be on a far larger scale than the recent counter-attack which crushed the Japanese at Changsha. All plans are drawn up, awaiting only the distribution of the American equipment and supplies to the Chinese troops in various sectors. All the supplies needed are already in China, and even if the Burma Road is cut, the plan will still be executed.
