CROQUET HAUNUI CLUB CONTESTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following were the results of games played in the C grade championship of the Haunui Croquet Club: — Mrs Rasmussen beat Mrs Symons, 26/7; Mrs Rasmussen beat Mrs Jeffrey, 26/2; Mrs Symons beat Mrs Jeffrey, 26/11; Mrs Symons beat Mrs Rasmussen, 26/19. Final: Mrs Symons beat Mrs Rasmussen, 26/24. The beginners’ championship was won by Mrs T. Davis. Personal. Mrs Unveyritch, Hastings, is visiting her sister, Mrs J. C. Varnham. Red Cross Society. The Red Cross Society’s classes in sanitation and hygiene are now being held regularly and the instruction is greatly appreciated by pupils. The junior and intermediate lectures are to be given by the District Nurse. The first of the weekly euchre parties was held in the rooms on Monday afternoon, when there was a fair attendance. The card winners were Mrs Chas. Skipage and Mrs McKenna. Competitions were won by Mrs Sharp and Mrs McKenna. A picture worked and donated by Sister Hendy was won by Mrs Sharp. COSV THEATRE TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME. “This Thing Called Love,” the comedy sensation of the year, will be shown tonight. A mighty cast is headed by Melvyn Douglas .and Rosalind Russell. (Recommended by the Censor for adults).
