VITAL STATISTICS FIGURES FOR JANUARY. (“Times-Age” Special.) There were five births, no marriages, and two deaths in Featherston in January. Personal Items. Miss Zoe Holland left yesterday for Palmerston North to join the nursing staff of the Public Hospital there. Miss Joyce Hatton left for Tihoi, Taupo district, at the end of last week. Mrs Keeton, Wellington, and Mrs J. Jarman, Lower Hutt, are the guests of Mrs Corlet, Pihautea. Mrs Jarman's husband, Group Captain J. Jarman, who is serving with the R.A.F. in England, recently received his second war decoration. Bowling. One game was played during the week-end in the Featherston Bowling Club’s pairs championship, when Elder and Rolls defeated Rowles and J. Higgison. COSY THEATRE WEDNESDAY'S PROGRAMME. “This Thing Called Love,” the comedy sensation of the year, will be shown on Wednesday. A mighty cast is headed by Melvyn Douglas and Rosalind Russell. (Recommended by the Censor for adults).
