MAURICEVILLE WEST

COMING-OF-AGE PARTY ENJOYABLE GATHERING. ("Times-Age” Special.) There was. a large crowd at the Memorial Hall recently, when Mr and Mrs A. Forsberg entertained friends at a social gathering in honour of the com-ing-of-age of their son Linton. The proceedings opened with the Grand March to pipe music supplied by Piper Linton. Music for dancing was supplied by Barnes’s Orchestra. Much appreciated items were rendered by Mr Harry Hall, of Masterton. At a suitable interval, Mr H. Myers, in proposing the toast of Mr L. Forsberg, spoke in glowing terms of his popularity, and wished him the very best of luck in the Air Force.

Mr A. Forsberg presented his son with a gold key signet ring, the recipient suitably replying. A cake decorated with 21 candles was then cut by the guest of the evening. The gathering was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld. Lang Syne” and “God Save the King.” Personal Items. Mrs J. Burnett of Dannevirke, has been the guest of Mrs A .Forsberg. The death occurred very suddenly in Taumarunui of Mr Charles Nielsen, eldest son of the late Mr and Mrs Jorgen Nielsen. The late Mr Nielsen served in the Great War, and had been farming in the Taumarunui district since his return. He is survived by his wife and four daughters, who will have the sympathy of a large circle of local friends in their bereavement. Miss Valmai Nielsen, of Auckland, who recently spent a holiday here with relatives, has returned home. Miss A. Forsberg,. Lower Hutt, was a recent visitor to Mauriceville.
