STOCK MARKET

SALE AT ADDINGTON PRICES WELL MAINTAINED. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. January 28. There were large entries in practically all sections at today’s Addington market and generally prices were well maintained. The store lamb market differed very little in values. Top price was for sound-mouthed three-quarterbreds 24s 9d. In fat lambs there was a fair showing of quality lambs, with a rise of ] -8d in the schedule for first grade, but this was not. fully reflected in the prices paid. The market, however, was inclined to be firmer and the bulk of the entry went to exporters within the schedule. The fat sheep market was irregular but on the average little changed from a week ago. In fat cattle, prime best quality steers made £l6 5s to £lB 12s 6d; best heifers, £lO 10s to £l4 12s 6d; best cows, £lO to £l2 12s 6d. Fat pig values at the beginning were on a par with the last sale, but eased toward the finish by 2s to 3s a head. PAHIATUA SALE LAMB VALUES FIRM. The Associated Auctioneers report on their Pahiatua sale as follows:— Approximately 5000 lambs were yarded ,and offered to a medium attendance of the public. The top shorn wether lambs were of exceptional quality, and realisations in this section showed that buyers appreciated the quality offering.
