GOLDEN WEDDING MR AND MRS GOSS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr and Mrs E. E. Goss, Levin, and late of Nireaha, celebrated their golden wedding recently at the home of their daughter, Mrs E. Hutchings, Eketahuna. Fifty-three guests were present, and the wedding cake was decorated with 50 candles. Toasts were honoured and a pair of fireside chairs was presented to the guests of honour by Mr C. E. S. Goss, the eldest son, on behalf of the family. The wedding was celebrated at the Anglican Church, Lower Hutt, on j January 5, 1892, by the Rev Mr Jones. , The bride was born in Wellington, and ' the bridegroom at Seven Oaks, Kent. England. Mr and Mrs Goss first j lived at Petone, and then at Belmont. I A farm was purchased at Mangamaire. I and on its disposal they went to Lower ' Hutt. Finally Mr Goss purchased a ' farm at Nireaha, where they lived for ; 34 years. About four years ago they ; retired, and have been living in Levin. The bridesmaid, Mrs Fuller, Wellington, sister of the bride, and the best man, Mr W. Goss, Upper Hutt, brother of the bridegroom, are still living. The family consists of three daughters, Mrs W. J. Hooper, Newman; Mrs W. H. Lawry, Pahiatua; and Mrs E. Hutchings, Eketahuna; and eight sons, Messrs C. E. S., W. E., E. W.. and A. C., of Nireaha, A. E. and A. H„ of Shannon, Pte. E. and Gnr. H. J. Goss, overseas. There are 26 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, and all are living. RED CROSS SOCIETY i FIRST AID EXAMINATION. . The secretary of the Eketahuna sub- . branch of the Red Cross Society re- j ports that the 14 candidates who sat : for the recent first-aid examination all j passed with honours. Miss E.
