Board, received a cablegram from his ; son, Aircraftman George Brown, that . he- had passed his examination and gained his “wings.” t Mr W. Wadham, who underwent an operation in the Masterton Hospital, ; has returned to his home. The many friends of Mrs W. Gaskin, t of South Carterton, will regret to hear that she is an inmate of the Masterton Hospital. , Mrs N. R. Armstrong, who has been visiting Napier, has returned to CarI ter ton. Mrs Guy Booth, of Pahautanui, is a visitor to Carterton. ORDER OF DRUIDS 1 1 TOTARA LODGE MEETING. Past Arch Druid W. Fryer presided over the usual meeting of Totara Lodge No. 3, U.A.0.D.. held last night. It was reported with regret that Bros. lan Bond and J. F. Corlett, on active service in Libya, were reported missing, believed prisoners of war. It was resolved that the sympathy of the Lodge be extended to parents and other relatives of the soldiers named. A long discussion took place on proposals set out in a letter from the Wellington Friendly Societies and the British Medical Association, in connection with the medical benefit scheme under the Social Security Act. The matter will be further considered at a later meeting. The balance sheet and quarterly return was read and adopted. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £BB 2s 9d were passed for payment. Entertainment of Soldiers. The members of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union will hold a card party in the band room on Saturday next. Cards will be played in the supper room, and the dancing take place in the main hall. Both the dancing and cards will commence at 8 o’clock. Woman Injured. Falling when getting over a fence yesterday, Mrs F. M, Trapp, of Carterton, injured one of her legs and was admitted to Masterton Hospital. Her condition this morning is reported to be comfortable.
