FARMERS’ UNION

PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE • MEETING. There was some discussion at yesterday’s meeting of the Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union regarding a proposal to have sheep infected with ticks placarded, the same as those with lice. A remit recommending this action was passed by the last conference but, it was reported, had been turned down by the Dominion executive. It was agreed to take further action. Mx- Crawford stated that a herd tester in the Featherston district had been unable to get sufficient petrol foxvisiting all the faremrs in his area. It was agreed to place the matter before the union's representative on the Oil Fuel Committee.
