CANADIAN TROOPS
SOME SENT TO HONG HONG UNTRAINED. PRIME MINISTER PROMISES INQUIRY. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) OTTAWA, January 22. The Prime Minister, Mr Mackenzie King, told the House of Commons that a committee would investigate the circumstances in which a number of men were sent to Hong Kong with the Canadian army without training. The Conservative leader, Mr Hanson, said the statement by the Defence Minister, Mr Ralston, on the Hong Kong expedition revealed a very serious situation regarding the training of manpower. The fact that mechanical transport had not reached Hong Kong called for investigation.
