V.A.D. TRAINING

A REFRESHER COURSE. Nurse instructors of the Wairarapa Centre of New Zealand Red Cross Society from all parts of Wairarapa attended a refresher course in V.A.D. training in Masterton on Wednesday. The visitors were entertained at morning tea at the Country Women’s Club by Mrs A. C. Gawith, president of the Country Districts Red Cross Society, and Mrs W. James, president of the Registered Nurses’ Association. At the Masterton Hospital the Wairarapa Centre Commandant, Mrs Stewart, welcomed the visitors and Miss Brown, sub-matron, demonstrated the modern method in connection with nursing. The matron of the hospital, Miss Grant, escorted them over the hospital where they were interested in seeing points illustrated in the into practice in the wards. Afternoon tea was served in the Sisters’ sitting-room, and the visitors passed votes of thanks to the Matron, sub-matron and members of the executives of the Red Cross Centre.
