WEDDING
CUNNINGHAM—HUNT. At St. Patrick’s Church, Masterton, recently, Esma May, eldest daughter of Mr E. Hunt, of Wellington, was married to John, second son of Mr and Mrs Cunningham, Weraiti, Masterton. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father Moore.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming gown of French satin beaute. The very full skirt fell in folds and formed a train on which were two rucked hearts. The bodice was of gold lame, having a heart-shaped neckline and a little jacket of satin. Her beautiful bridal veil was held in place by a halo of orange blossom buds lent by a friend. Completing the toilet was a sheaf of Christmas lilies and maiden-hair fern, a gold cross and gold shoes. The bride was attended by her sister, Olive, as chief bridesmaid, and Mrs Martin Cunningham as matron of honour. Both were attired in pretty frocks of water marked taffeta in pink and green respectively. The skirts were very full and the bodices had heartshaped necklines. The short puff sleeves were rucked. They wore heartshaped halos and carried muffs of gold lame, finished with a spray of lilies and fern. Masters Ron Hunt and David Marsh in cream satin suits attended the bride as page boys. Mr John Cave was. best man and Mr W. Reynolds groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by little Shirley Marsh, niece of the bridegroom. Mr and Mrs Cunningham later left for the north on their honeymoon. They have taken up their home at Castlepoint.
