SUNK BY U-BOATS

+ TWO AMERICAN SHIPS ATTACKS OFF CAROLINA COAST. MEMBERS OF CREWS KILLED OR MISSING. LONDON, January 21. Two more ships have been sunk off the United States Atlantic coast. One of the vessels was the American ship City of Atlanta, of 5,000 tons. She was sunk either by gunfire or torpedo off the North Carolina coast. Of her crew of 46, 43 are missing, and one is dead. The second ship was a Latvian steamer of about 4,000 tons. She was torpedoed without warning, just before dawn, off the Carolina coast. She had a crew of 32. Two were killed.
