ROCKET DEVICE

USED IN LAUNCHING GERMAN FIGHTERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON. January 20. German newspapers reveal that the Luftwaffe is using a new rocket device for launching fighters as part of the defence against R.A.F. sweeps over the Channel. The device enables the fighters to climb quickly several thousand feet with their original speed of nearly 400 miles an hour. This gives the defending planes ample height before the arrival of the raiders.
