PEDESTRIAN INJURED
ACCIDENT AT WAINGAWA. Abrasions and concussion were suffered by Richard Connell, aged about 66 years, of Martinborough, when he was knocked down last night by a motor truck driven by Mr J. R. Donovan, of Masterton. The accident occurred near the entrance to the Waingawa Freezing Works at about 10 p.m. It appears that Mr Donovan was returning to Masterton from Featherston. Mr Connell suddenly stepped in front of the lorry, apparently with a view to getting a lift. Mr Donovan endeavoured to avoid Mr Connell, but was unable to do so.
The victim was admitted to the Masterton Hospital, where his condition this morning was reported to be satisfactory.
