FIGHT IN STREET

TWO MEN BEFORE COURT BOTH DEFENDANTS FINED

Two men, who were arrested in Queen Street on Saturday night, appeared before Messrs R. Krahagen and H. E. Pither, J.’sP., in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning on charges of fighting in the street. The men concerned were Ernest Governor, of Te Ore Ore, aged 24, and Timothy Sullivan, of Masterton, aged 26. Mr N. G. F. Whiteman appeared for Governor, who pleaded not guilty. Sullivan, who was not represented by counsel. pleaded guilty. Governor was convicted and fined £3 and Sullivan £5.
