MOTOR FATALITY

WOMAN KILLED. KNOCKED DOWN BY BUS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 18. After alighting from a passenger bus g at Cockle Bay, near Howick, on Saturday afternoon, Miss Mary Mclntyre, housemaid, was knocked down by the vehicle and fatally injured. Miss Mclntyre had apparently gone to the back of the bus after its arrival at the beach terminus. The driver commenced to back the bus in the usual manner, preparatory to commencing the return trip and on hearing a scream, he stopped. The woman was found lying under the bus, the back wheel having passed over her body. She died before the arrival of the ambulance. Inquiries have failed to trace any relatives residing in the Dominion. Her age was about 45 years.
