CARTERTON
PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) On Wednesday the staff of Messrs Gordon Hughan, Ltd., met Mr Harry G. Hughan, who has since entered camp and made him a presentation. Mr Rex Porter, on behalf of the staff, in an appropriate speech, handed Mr Hughan a leather writing wallet. Mr Hughan thanked the staff for their thoughtful gift, and announced that during his absence Mr Porter would be acting-mana-ger of the firm. Mrs N .R. Armstrong, who has been an inmate of the Greytown Hospital, has returned home. She left this morning to spend a holiday at Napier. Bound for the Races. A steam train and the usual rail car were well filled this morning with patrons en route t<? the Wellington races. REGENT THEATRE TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME. “Freedom Radio,” the mightiest thrill-drama of the century, will be shown tonight. The leading roles are portrayed by Clive Brook and Diana Wynyard. (Recommended by the Censor for adult audiences).
