CONCENTRATING IN ITALY FOR ATTACKS IN LIBYA OR ON MALTA. SITUATION IN CYRENAICA. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (.Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, January 16. Considerable German air strength is now concentrated in Italy in view of intervening in the battle for Libya or an attack against Malta, says the Stockholm newspaper “Sociale Mokraten’s” Berlin correspondent. Another Berlin source states that the military authorities consider the situation in Cyrenaica to have improved in favour of the Axis and expect stabilisation of General Rommel’s front, following upon improvement in- supplies, due to extensive action of U-boats in the Mediterranean.
