PETROL RESTRICTIONS

—♦ — POSITION OF LOCAL PRODUCE MERCHANTS. CANVASSING NOT ALLOWED. Mr R. H. Brewerton, president of the Wairarapa Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants’ Association, stated this morning that he wished all farmers to take particular notice of the advertisement in this issue relating to the discontinuance of all canvassing, as petrol was allowed to be used only for the purpose of advising farmers on cropping and other matters. He stressed the fact that the matter should be treated by farmers as urgent and he would be pleased to supply further particulars. Farmers should understand that they could, however, have the advice of their respective merchants on any matters involving increased production and agricultural work.
